Going For Bold

Going For Bold

Summer may be coming to a close, but planning for next summer’s weddings is full steam ahead — and that means lots of color! Whether it’s a brightly colored bouquet or a dazzling bridesmaids dress, adding a pop of color to your wedding day will make it vibrant and memorable. Here are some of my favorite ways to incorporate color into your wedding.

While many brides opt for a soft and neutral palette for their bouquet, we love that this bride embraced vibrant colors and went bold – those cattleya orchids are just amazing! These bouquets perfectly blended a radiant orchid palette and contrast beautifully with the soft white of her gown (above, photography: Maypole Studios, florist: Revel Decor).

Using different textures, floral varieties, and varying shades of one color (in this case purple) keep things fresh and fun for bridesmaids.

Grooms don’t have to sport only white flowers either! This bright fuchsia orchid really pops against the black of his tux.

Impress your guests with a stunning escort card table arrangement in bright and bold hues. With the daring pop of color, the rest of your design can remain fairly understated and simple.

Another way to infuse color is with your cake design. Dress up your cake with bright cascading flowers for a dramatic effect.

Dress your maids with a bright pop of color all day and night long! (Not only will they look great, but also it will make you stand out even more, as it serves as a contrast to your gown.) Bridesmaids’ robes don’t need to be boring! Start out the day with bold stripes instead of a standard soft floral print. After hair and makeup is done, pair bright coral dresses with muted bouquets of light coral, white, and natural greens to make a beautiful statement.

And as the bride, tying it all together with a rich lip color is the perfect touch!

Whether you incorporate one or all of these ideas into your big day, adding a splash of color to your wedding palette will create a warm vibe perfect for a summer wedding.

How will your add color into your wedding day? We’d love to hear your ideas!
