FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS AN “ESSENTIAL I DOs” MICRO WEDDING?

A micro wedding is an intimate celebration with 30 or fewer guests. The focus is on the most significant element of the day — your wedding ceremony. More than an elopement, a micro wedding is a refreshing and simplified way to celebrate in style.

We have thought of everything, so all you need to think about is getting to the church on time! (Well, not a church, but you get it.) All of the essentials that you need to start your life together as a married couple are included — the venue, flowers, decor, cake, champagne, music, officiant, rentals — and planned to perfection, of course.

WILL MY WEDDING BE PRIVATE & SOCIALLY DISTANCED?

We offer four ceremony times on one day to maximize your spend and minimize the planning. But rest assured, your wedding is exactly that: your wedding. The day is meticulously planned out to make sure that the time you choose is exclusive to you and your guests.

We will be following all CDC and local government guidelines to ensure the health and safety of you and your guests. Strict sanitation protocols will be in effect and the floor plan will accommodate socially-distanced seating vignettes.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I INVITE?

Our micro weddings are limited to 30 people (plus you and your partner). Additional guests may be added based on the venue’s capacity for an extra fee, pending government and CDC guidelines.

HOW WILL THE DAY FLOW?

We streamline the process so you can focus on the most important elements of your wedding. Your entire event is about 90 minutes and follows this structure:

  • 15 minutes: Ceremony
  • 45 minutes: Mini Reception
  • 30 minutes: Photography Session

DO I NEED TO BOOK MY OWN VENDORS?

Nope! We do it all for you. Over the past 11 years, our parent company, SQN Events, has built strong relationships with the industry’s most talented and trusted professionals. We handpick the entire creative team to ensure that every detail is tended to with the same level of care as our full planning clients.

WHAT WILL MY WEDDING LOOK LIKE?

Each Essential I Dos wedding is thoughtfully designed by SQN Events and is tailored to the venue and season. All weddings will have a clean, classic, and chic look featuring a soft, neutral color palette that easily pairs with any style. And you can expect jaws to drop when you and your guests see your ceremony set-up!

CAN I PERSONALIZE MY WEDDING?

We realize that one size does not fit all and want you to be able to customize your celebration. You have the opportunity to add any of the following items to enhance your guests’ experience: live musicians, videography, additional bouquets or boutonnières, invitations, light bites, favors, getaway cars, and more. We can also provide recommendations for hair & makeup services, wedding suites at nearby hotels, and anything else you’d like to make planning your day as stress-free as possible.

WHAT DO WE DO AFTER OUR MICRO WEDDING?

The choice is yours! Many couples make reservations at a restaurant to continue the festivities. Some couples leave right away on their honeymoon. Some go home and put on sweatpants. It is completely up to you. If you are getting married during the last time slot of the day and want to extend the celebration at the venue, we can customize a plan and make that happen, too!

GIVING BACK:

We are blessed to be part of our couples’ most special moments and create memories that will last a lifetime. We know that we are the lucky ones and believe in supporting those that help others in ways that we can’t. We honor each couple with a donation in their name to Project HOPE. Project HOPE works on the front lines of the world’s health challenges, partnering hand-in-hand with communities, health care workers, and public health systems to ensure sustainable change.

“Call me a romantic. I have always believed that the most important part of a wedding day is the ceremony. It’s the true ‘why’ of the celebration. When the pandemic hit and it became clear that weddings were going to shift, it was very natural for me to go back to the basics of a wedding day, pare back the fluff, and focus on the essentials. At the core of it all, I believe in love. I believe in family. And I believe in celebrating. Now, let’s get you married!”
